In the Philippines, the government is trying to address the problem on housing by providing the slum dwellers, informal settlers and squatters a formal through a one-step regularization process. In this case, these people are directly provided with formal housing without ?struggle?. The beneficiaries were not fully involved in any planning processes done by the government and so the subsequent development faced numerous problems. The beneficiaries lack sense of ownership on the built environment provided to them. The main objective of this study is to develop a planning process using the concept of community participation that would engage the community in Socialized Planning and Housing Design in Brgy. Singao Home Owners Association 1 Resettlement Villiga, Kidapawan City. Workshops were conducted with the members of the community. This approach primarily involved the participation of the community in decision-making in the design processes. The results of the workshops are: (1) consolidated site development plan that could cater to 135 households; (2) three types of housing units, namely duplex, two-storey and one storey residential units.
