This community-based study determines the effective channels, tools, media and approach in creating new IEC material on Schistosomiasis prevention among the residents of Barangay Kapatungan. The researcher gathers the following data through a one-shot survey among the residents of Barangay Kapatungan and an analysis f the existing IEC materials on Schistosomiasis prevention by which the visual literacy theory was used. Both methods were used as the baseline of the study. On the informative study, the researcher analyses the data using the Chi-square Test and Spearman Rank Correlation. Results show that the variables in this study were high, except the knowledge on Schistosomiasis among respondents which affects their behavior. Lastly, attendance of the respondents during mass treatments showed affects to their knowledge. The researcher synthesizes both data from the baseline data and uses 7 steps in writing for visual media of Anthony Friedmann for the conceptualization of the new IEC materials. a three-part video of "Ang schisto walay gipili, busa angay nga mag-maalamon" informing on the basic information on schistosomiasis that corrects the misconceptions of the respondents of Barangay Kapatungan, causes of the infection, prevention and importance of praziquantel. This study can be a basis for a creation of Schistosomiasis campaign and communication perspective on the study about Schistosomiasis.
