Summary, etc. Pliant architecture is flexible architecture that gives an exceptional degree of freedom in architectural design. Recently, BubbleDeck technology offered an innovatory method of reducing structural self-weight of slabs. The technology uses hollow spherical balls made by recycled plastic to eliminate concrete parts of the slab that does not contribute to the structural performance. In this study, BubbleDeck technology was replicated by using papercrete instead of concrete producing the Thick-Shell Papercrete Membrane (TSPM) TSPM used catenary shaped balls to optimize the shape of the voided papercrete. Also, in this study effect of various factors to the behaviors of the TSPM are considered, such as the papercrete strength, the shape and diameter of the balls, and the size of the reinforcing mesh. In order to demonstrate the superiority and advances of the TSPM, a comparative experiment was conducted with a solid papercrete slab. The research results show the effectiveness and feasibility of the application of the TSPM in the construction industry in Davao City, Philippines.
