Summary, etc. The Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was performed using secondary data which is the seaweed production of Zamboanga del Norte and primary data from the survey interview. Due to unavailability of secondary data for time series analysis, cross sectional data in seaweed production of Zamboanga del Norte in 2007 was utilized. The variables used in the study were the volume of production per hectare (kilograms) as the output and the number of laborers, cost of labor and cost of materials used as the inputs. All variables are considered at per hectare per one cropping seasons. Results in the regression analysis showed that of all the inputs used, only the number of laborers and cost of labor are significant at 0.5% level of significance. For the Data Envelopment Analysis, results showed that at Constant Returns to Scale (CRS) Assumption, only barangay Taguilon got a technical efficiency score of 1 while the rest of the Decision Making Units (DMU) have scores which is below the average score of 0.5. This means that the rest of the DMU's are inefficient. The mean value of CRS assumption is 0.271 which tells us that all these DMU's still need to utilize 72.9% of the inputs available. Results for the Variable Returns to Scale (VRS) Assumption on the other hand showed that, Barangay Sto. Nino, Taguilon, La Conception, Nipaan and Siari got a technical efficiency score of 1. This means that these DMU's achieve the full efficiency, while the rest of the DMU's got a technical efficiency score which is above the average score of 0.5. Results for the VRS assumption manifested that all the DMU's are efficient in the production of seaweeds. With mean efficiency score of 87.2% which is above the average score, only 22.8% of the inputs are needed to be utilized.
