520 3# - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Entertainment education is an approach that is being used to incorporate social issues with entertainment programmes. This kind of medium allows the audience to make decisions on their own without being preached to and by using it. It legitimizes sensitive topics for public discussion, giving people the positive reinforcement they need to talk about the issues with families and friends. Street theatre is also a form of entertainment education. It has become widely used by a lot of education because of the effect that it leaves the audience while watching and has been proven effective by a lot of advocacy groups. This production thesis answers the design problem: how to make the real life case stories of the victims can contribute to the over-all entertainment education package of the street theatre [lay specially to the characters, plot, set and dialogue of Rhea, Aunt Azon and Sgt. Cruz. Understanding the real situation of human trafficking and its victims through library, online and interviews has been the primary factors leading to the prerequisites of the playwriting process which are the following: (1) Characters, (2) Situation, (3) Plot and Dialogue and (4) Set. The storyline revolves around the life of Rhea. The main setting of the play is a police precinct where Rhea was being interviewed by Sgt. Cruz about her experience with Kiss Me night club and why she was forced to work there. Due to unavoidable circumstances, Rhea was forced to work at Kiss Me as a waitress where she meets Aunt Azon, the pimp and the one who forces her to ?table? a customer. The raid that happened in the night club becomes the way for Rhea to break free from the laws of Aunt Azon and the shadows of being a prostitute. The proponent of this study envisions the final production script to be used by Talikala, Inc. as one of their strategies in educating the people of Davao Region as well as other street theatre groups in Mindanao. This project can also be a good tool in letting the people of Davao City know they can lend a helping in the continuous fight and eventually putting a stop to human trafficking in the region.
