Summary, etc. | Language often time hinders the flow of communication between the sender and the receiver during the transmission of messages in communication. In the case of the Salugpungan 'Ta Tanu Igkanogon Community Learning Center, Inc. wherein both of the communicants, the teacher and the students, use of different dialects which creates difficulty in making sure if the intended messages were sent successfully or not. Therefore, the study aimed to describe the communication process between Ms. Hyacinth Casagda and the five representatives from the Grade 2 class in order to understand the flow of communication. Moreover, the study also focused in determining the motivations of the teacher (sender/agent) as the foundation of communication during the action and discourse of the actual exchange of communication. The motives were recognized and determined using Burke's Dramatistic Pentad. In the end, several factors were determined that had affected the flow and process of communication. In addition, language gap was not only seen as the factor that hinders communication but as well as the factors that govern within the receiver and in particular with in the sender. In the end, several communication approaches were determined that were used by sender to accomplish in solving or lessening the language problem as well as the mental, emotional, physical and environmental disturbances during the communication. Therefore, through the utilization of the two models of communication, the study was able to describe and understand the whole process of communication between Ms. Hyacinth and the students. Furthermore, through this study, the teachers would be able to determine what communication approaches are appropriate during the lesson. Further, to help them recognize the factors that might help or hinder their communication strategies due to the communication problems. Thus, might contribute to the betterment of learning development of the Ata-Manobo students and would be a big help for the program to know the missing factors that should also be considered to be able to achieve the optimum objectives of the program; to teach them how to write, read, and count. |
