Summary, etc. This study entitled "A Research Analysis on the Acoustical (Absorption and Transmission) and Thermal (Conductivity and Resistivity) Properties of Pineapple Leaf Fibres (PALF) as Drywall Partition Wall" has a general problem of PALF board exhibiting acoustical properties and thermal insulating properties. From this problem, specific problems and objectives were formulated. The physical characteristics of the material samples were observed. In the thermal test, three formulations were tested. Formulation A (75% plaster of Paris, 2.5% perlite and 12.5% PALF), B (85% plaster of Paris, 7.5% perlite and 7.5% PALF and C (95% plaster of Paris, 2.5% perlite and 2.5% PALF). For the acoustical test, one formulation was used (75% plaster of Paris, 12.5 perlite and 12.5% PALF). The sound absorption and sound transmission class values were computed and initial values were determined using reverberation chamber (sound absorption) and the diffuse-field sound model (sound transmission loss values). In thermal test, Lee?s Disc Method was used to determine the thermal conductivity and thermal resistivity. Other physical tests such as moisture and water absorption content were also determined in this research. The physical characteristics of the material were generally dirty white in color, rough in texture, had no chipped corners but were smooth. Results showed that the Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of the PALF drywall partition was reflecting but was higher than other commercially available materials such as gypsum. The STC rating of the PALF drywall boards has a fair rating based on the subjective STC rating and higher than widely used gypsum. In thermal tests, among the three formulations tested. Formulation A exhibited the most effective thermal insulating properties, lowest in thermal conductivity and highest in thermal resistivity. Results in moisture absorption, all formulations showed significant moisture absorption value. The water absorption tests results were insignificant based from the accepted water absorption range. Based on the results, the study concluded that PALF drywall boards can be used as drywall partition boards with similar thermal and acoustical properties with the commercial ones.
