Summary, etc. |
The study aims to evaluate the post-occupancy status and the user satisfaction of homeowners, and to appraise the present physical condition of housing unit in four different socialized housing projects that were primarily made from ICEB. Pearson Chi Square was used to determine the degree of relationship between the physical environment indicators of housing unit and the user satisfaction. The data showed that the majority of the residents were satisfied in their housing unit even there were some factors that resulted to low satisfaction, such as noise, availability of utilities, quality of materials, and spaces of dwelling. Findings showed that there was a moderate relationship between physical environment indicators and user satisfaction with an average P-value of .025. The data indicated that the size of dwelling was not enough for residents, specifically the size of kitchen and the dining space. It resulted to majority of the homeowners to expand or alter the front and back of their houses using concrete or light materials and not with ICEB due to difficulty of using ICEB during renovations and unavailability of blocks within the site after the housing project completed. In addition, the use of ICEB for housing unit showed positive feedback from homeowners. The study concluded that the physical condition of housing unit partly affects the satisfaction of homeowners. Most of the housing projects were unsuccessful considering the future development of homeowners in their housing unit. The study recommends to incorporate horizontal incremental design for future housing projects |
