Summary, etc. The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) was developed by Ajzen and Fishbein. This theory explained how an individual's behavior is guided by his behavioral intention which is then influenced by several factors namely: attitude toward the specific behavior, subjective norms, and their perceived behavioral control. This study used TPB to understand the factors that affect the provision of social support of individuals who have loved ones affected by Tuberculosis (TB). This study aimed to: (1) identify the extent of the respondents? communication environment regarding TB, (2) measure the respondents? perception of social support, (3) identify the respondents? means of providing social support, (4) measure the influence of communication environment on the perception and provision of social support as well as its influence on self-efficacy, (5) determine how relevant socio-demographic characteristics influence provision of social support, and (6) identify other relevant factors that influence the respondents? perception and provision of social support. Using a one-shot survey design, this study was conducted among 102 respondents from the 16 barangays within the Municipality of New Bataan, Compostela Valley Province. Spearman's rho correlation and Fisher?s exact test were used to identify the relationship between the respondents? communication environment and perception and provision of social support. Moreover, the results of these statistical tests revealed that communication environment do not impact the respondent's perception of social support as well as their likeliness of providing support. However, results showed that stigma towards TB is significantly influential to the target behavior.
