The real estate and construction industry, property lands, as forms of property investment and market, are industries significantly rising in the Philippines. Rise of townships, mixed-use developments, and subdivisions in Davao region are ubiquitous. This property market trend signals a tremendous opportunity for geodetic engineering services. Geodetic engineering plays an important in the success of civil work projects in the construction industry. It determines the smooth infrastructure development, as it is the first step performed before any construction work. It is crucial to guide the work of engineers, architects, urban and regional planners, geologists, and developers by measuring distances and angles between points on, above, and below the Earth’s surface. Geodetic engineering as an associated service translates to an increased demand for the services offered by companies, such as RM Tinoy Land Surveying and Engineering Services. RM Tinoy Land Surveying and Engineering Services is a family business engaged in land surveying and engineering services established in 2015. It I managed by and under the name of the only son in the family, Engineer Roseller Tinoy Jr. it offers various surveying and engineering services such as boundary surveys, original surveys, control surveys, resurveys, land title processing, and GIS mapping. The business is located at NHA Maa, Davao City, within the residence of the Tinoy Family. However, the lack of marketing activities and industry partnerships and collaboration limit the ability of the company to take advantage of the economic opportunities and maintain its growth in the industry. To address this, strategies are formulated for RM Tinoy to capitalize on new market opportunities, counter and resolving emerging issues, and build key resources that would allow the company to meet the increasing market demand for geodetic engineering services in Mindanao. The process of strategy formulation for RM Tinoy includes the use of several tools including the external factor evaluation (IFE) matrix in which external opportunities and threats affecting the geodetic engineering industry and consequently the geodetic engineering companies are identified. The internal strengths and weaknesses were also identified using the internal factor evaluation (IFE) matrix. In the internal audit, a competitive profile matrix was also used to compare the strengths and weaknesses of RM Tinoy with the identified major industry competitors. Moreover, the external and internal factors were matched through SWOT matrix to develop specific strategies. Then a quantitative strategic planning matrix (QSPM) was also implemented to objectively identify the best alternative strategy for RM Tinoy based on the insights from the external and internal strategic factors. Lastly, to evaluate and control the strategic actions for RM Tinoy, a balanced scorecard will be used. It provides the manager and key employees in the company with useful information about specific. In addition, the external and internal factors were matched through a SWOT matrix to develop specific strategies. Then a quantitative strategic planning matrix (QSPM) was also implemented to objectively identify the best alternative strategy for RM Tinoy based on the insights from the external and internal strategic factors. Lastly, to evaluate and control the strategic actions for RM Tinoy, a balanced scorecard will be used. It provides the manager and key strategies over which they have control and influence. It assesses and tracks progress, ensures that objectives and goals are achieved, and identifies areas for improvement. Using the various tools with the aim to achieve the vision, mission, and goals of RM Tinoy, strategies on market penetration, market development, and government and private partnerships and contracting are proposed. Operational strategies to achieve these specific strategies include the provision of additional human resources in the company to cater to the expected demand for their services. Technological profile and expertise are also major areas to contribute to the ultimate service quality of RM Tinoy, making it the trusted provider of quality and reliable geodetic engineering services and solutions in Mindanao.
