By: Material type: TextTextLanguage: English Description: 177 leaves; ill; 28 cmSubject(s): Summary: This ethnographic material provides an in-depth examination of the resurgence, development and survival of the Church of YHWH and YWHSA HMSYH despite the proliferation of many religions in the country. In particular, the study looks at its history, leadership and membership, socio-religious structure, beliefs and practices, which are considered the pillars and foundation of its existence. Through a highly unified leadership, deeply religious membership, solid and compact organization, effective indoctrination activities, sustainable and active resource mobilization techniques, mass oriented and pro-Filipino approaches coupled with innovativeness and creativity, the movement has managed to become part of mainstream faith in the Philippines. While ignored in the ethnographic literature of the country, the group epitomizes the success of new religions in the Philippines and overseas.
