The City of Tacurong is the financial, commercial, education, and rest and recreation center of the Province of Sultan Kudarat and Central Cotabato. Tacurong City is also known as the City of goodwill. However, despite of its being the City of Goodwill and despite of its potentials for tourism and investment, the City is oftentimes perceived as one of the dangerous places in Mindanao. This may attributed to the City's location that is between Muslim conflict areas. This production thesis aims to re-introduce Tacurong as the City of Goodwill this improving this image. To do this, the City's existing brochure (published in 2010) was subjected to visual and textual analysis using the Design Criticism Model of Evans and Thomas (2008). The results of the analyses were used as bases in conceptualizing and crafting the City Profile Portfolio. The portfolio contains flyers that feature the City?s strengths in both tourism and business/investment. Photographs and selected information and key messages were included to depict what Tacurong City really is. The whole process entailed the application of the Public Relations since building a positive image is important in promoting Tacurong not only as a tourism destination but also as a potential investment city. In image-building, public relations or ?relations with the public? is necessary. Visual communication through Principles and Elements of Design was used in designing and creating the portfolio.
