Mindanao Abstract: University of the Philippines is hailed as the premier state institution with seven constituent universities; one of these is the University of the Philippines Mindanao. One of the commitments of UP Mindanao is to provide affordable quality education, scholarly research, and responsive and relevant extension services to diverse, marginalized and deserving sectors in Mindanao and neighboring regions. To achieve the goal of the university, it was granted two land reservations. One of the land reservations is the Marilog-Arakan Land Reservation where Agro-Forestry Development Project is implemented, in partnership with Kennermer-Foods International, to improve the well-being of the IP community in the reservation. As the ADP was just signed last October 18, 2013, assessing the factors affecting the decision of the residents in participating in the program is needed to provide pertinent information to help the university and the other parties involved in the improvement of ADP. In order to identify the factors that affect the decision of the participants to join the program, binary logic model was employed. Based on the results of the study, the variables that were identified to be significant are: sex, age, educational attainment, household head, household size, Obu Manuvu membership, access to credit within 12 months, and effects of the program. Based on the findings, the author would like to recommend that the benefactors would constantly remind the potential beneficiaries, and they should also maintain good work relationship with the residents in the area, and continue in providing opportunities. It is also important to maintain good and effective management. For further studies, the researcher recommends impact analysis on the effects of the ADP to the community. Future researchers can also look into the satisfaction and the factors of the satisfaction of the participants with the benefits they are getting from the development program.Item type | Current library | Collection | Call number | Copy number | Status | Date due | Barcode |
