By: Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextLanguage: English Publication details: Davao City : School of Management, University of the Philippines Mindanao, c2014.Description: x, 82 leavesSubject(s): Summary: This strategic plan was prepared for the Dana Foundation, Inc. (DFI). DFI has been operating and serving communities in Davao Region and Sarangani for eight years. It was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit organization in May 27, 2005. Its main office is located at Ladislawa Avenue, Buhangin, Davao City, Philippines and a satellite office is located in Sto. Thomas, Davao del Norte. It was established by Nader & Ebrahim Hassan Phils, Inc, (NEH) a banana exporting company in the Middle East. It serves as a social development organization that promotes sustainable resource-use to its covered areas. The strategic plan focuses on DFIs operations and it?s heavily dependence on external funding. This is a major challenge for the DFI since the number of communities that need assistance are increasing and the needs of those currently being assisted are also increasing. This paper is intended to assist the DFI in its commitment to be a significant partner in the development of the communities, particularly those in the rural areas of Davao del Norte and Sarangani. The preparation of this strategic plan was guided by the framework developed by Fred David. The activities involved in the said framework are review of general performance, analysis of the external and internal environments, development of vision and mission statements, establishment of objectives, evaluation of strategic options, implementation of the chosen strategy, and measurement and evaluation of performance. The goals of this plan is for DFI to: (1) provide solution to understaffing and multi-tasking by hiring 1-2 more staff by 2015; (2) improve DFI's management by establishing a system of documentation by 2014; (3) and develop an evaluation blueprint on the sustainability of the projects; (4) maximize DFI as a CSR/marketing strategy for NEH-Phils; and (5) invest in a new website to establish image and position in the field.
