One municipality that receives information about disaster preparedness was the municipality of Banaybanay. Through the efforts of its Municipal Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), its constituents were educated. One constituent that they always informed were high school students. The study investigated the disaster preparedness communication tools used by MDRRMO Banaybanay and how it was received by high school students. One objective of the study was to identify the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents and how it affects the reception of the message of the communication tools. The results of the study suggested that there was a higher recall on earthquake preparedness than that of tsunami, flood and landslide. However, the result showed that 108 out of 111 female respondents (97%) of females have the higher recall on earthquake preparedness. This means that more female respondents have the recall on earthquake preparedness compared to male.
