A single class record can contain records of students grades in quizzes, assignments, exams, projects and other important records. However, class records among instructors are related, thus, they can be kept in a single database which can be shared by all authorized users. In order to prevent the unauthorized access to class records, the system is password-protected. This system is integrated to other systems for easy retrieval of information and manipulation of data. The outer system involves the addition, deletion, and editing of information about the students, courses, instructors, and subjects and these information are used by this system. The system is a database approach that focuses on the computation of students? grades as well as the centralization of student records. It involves the creation of class records and eases the burden of recording the same data items such as student numbers and student names. Instructors need not enter the students? name and student numbers into his class record on by one because the system can retrieve the needed data. Centralization of student records is one way of reducing the redundancy of data among class records. Every time students? grades in one subject are edited, their final grades are recomputed which are stored in a single database. This system can keep student records for more than five years and instructors can easily access their previous class records but are restricted from editing them. It adopts the client-server architecture. The clients for this system are the instructors and the server is the administrator that manages the accounts. Special features in the system are the exporting of grades from the database to an Excel file and importing of grades from an Excel file with the valid format. Importing of grades will automatically update student records. The system is built on the Windows environment and is only compatible to the said environment. Consequently, this system is only for the use of grades, they can do so by asking their instructors. With this system, class record keeping will be easier. Because student records are in a central location, this system can be used to develop new applications that will use the information in the databaseCover image | Item type | Current library | Collection | Call number | Status | Date due | Barcode |
