By: Material type: TextTextLanguage: English Publication details: 2007Description: 64 leavesSubject(s): Dissertation note: Thesis (BS Computer Science) -- University of the Philippines Mindanao, 2007 Abstract: The development of the Internal Operating Budget System (IOBSystem) automated the generation of the Internal Operating Budget (IOB) reports in Budget Office in the UP System. IOBSystem was designed to accelerate and to simplify the creation of the IOB report eliminating human possible errors on computations and data handling by providing a system dedicated to handle the IOB report. For user convenience and comfort, a user-friendly interface was provided. It also includes a security feature which manages all user permission access to the system and its resources. Aside from generating the IOB reports in default formats provided by the UP System, the IOBSystem can also generate a tabular summary of the IOB report either by operation, unit or general summary. All these generated reports and tables can be previewed in the system and are printable. Additional features are the data exportation in Comma Separated Value (CSV) formal which allows user to view the report in any spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel, and the screen-solution flexibility which enables users to view the system in a 800x600 resolution of higher. This database-driven-platform-independent system was developed using latest open source technologies ?Java Standard Widget Toolkit, Eclipse Platform Standard Development Kit, and MySQL Open Source SQL Database Management System
