Agriculture, specifically in banana production, has different sources of risks. In connection with these, this study aimed to identify sources of risks and investigate the impact of the risk attitude of Cavendish banana farmers on the production yield (export quality). To test this hypothesis, Safety-First Risk Estimation Model was used to compute the risk of the farmers. During the first quarter of the year 2023, data collected from 263 respondents were analyzed using multiple linear regression I which the effect of risk attitude in the production yield (export quality) was established. The results show that income, household size, farming experience, contract with buyer, and an increase in risk parameter were positively significant with production yield (export quality). Moreover, the risk classification of most of the male Cavendish banana farmers is risk preferring while majority of the female Cavendish banana farmers is low risk averse. The risk attitudes in production and marketing are significant with production yield (export quality). Thus, policy initiatives were suggested such as accreditation of more tissue culture laboratory, educational and training opportunities, formal and equitable contract, strengthened crop insurance among Cavendish banana farmers, management of Cavendish banana rejects, and research and development in managing the sources and impact of risks and risk attitude on the production yield (export quality) of the Cavendish banana farmers in Hagonoy, Davao del Sur and Digos City, Davao del Sur.
