This study entitled ?Integrating Therapeutic Leisure Activities in Outpatient Clinics:Towards a Healthy and Stimulating Health Care Environment? is about the activities and services that could affect a person's physical and mental functions. Architecture has a major role in designing medical facilities since the physical environment could affect a person's stress and health condition. Also health care service is a significant factor to be considered in a developing community as it affects the livelihood of local residents. Davao City as a growing urban community involves varied beliefs and preferences in judging a health care facility's environment as well as the medical assistance is performed. The significant concept of today's design of health care facilities is how to omit the notion that the latter is purely for medical purposes. Thus, this study aims to create an environment that meets the basic needs of users ? patients or non patients through the intervention of therapeutic leisure activities with the existing ways giving medical service. The output of the study was named ?Integratio Medico-Licere? by the researcher which means a health care facility that integrated therapeutic leisure activities into existing medical services. The researcher believes that a leisure oriented built environment is ideal for users because they would see clinics as unthreatening, comfortable, pleasurable and hospitable could therefore improve productivity of outpatient clinics. Also, the therapeutic leisure activities are believed to be beneficial supplements for outpatients who requires physical or mental faculty and undergo stress therapy.
