This study on the morpometrics of the Malayan black bug Scotinophora coarctata (F.) population from Zamboanga and Cotabato compared the developmental period, the morphological measurements of head and thoracic characters, as well as the descriptions of the external anatomy of the S. coarctata sampled from Zamboanga and Cotabato. The sample insects for Cotabato were collected in Kabacan, Cotabato; while those for Zamboanga were collected from Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur. The parts measured were exercised, mounted, and preserved using standard operating procedures, they were then measured using calibrated ocular micrometer and ruler. The measurements were analyzed using t-test for significant differences. The description of qualitative characters was done by observation under a scanner (magnification 40x). Results of the study indicated that the S. coarctata from Zamboanga have shorter developmental period, longer life span, wider vertex and scutellum widths, and longer antennae (segments I and IV). However, the Cotabato S. coarctata population have longer tibiae. The rostrum of the two populations are of similar length, as well as their fare wingsa and hind wings. The descriptions of the external anatomy of the head and thoracic regions are the same of both S. coarctata populations from Zamboanga and Cotabato. It is recommended that the same study should also be conducted on S. coarctata population from Palawan for final comparison
