The decision to venture to other crops is the most important decisions a farmer can make. The municipal government of Magpet in North Cotabato, together with private companies offer assistance programs to farmers who wish to venture into planting specific crops, such as rubber and banana. This study was conducted to determine if farmers in Magpet could be categorized in specific segments, and to determine factors that would influence farmers' decision to venture into planting another crop. Data were gathered from 68 farmers in 12 barangays in Magpet. Results of two-step cluster analysis revealed two clusters of farmers. Clustering was significantly influenced by income, education, and attendance to farming-related trainings. Results of the binary logic regression revealed that age, education, and occupation are significant factors in the farmers' decision to venture to other crops. Integrating the results of both cluster analysis and binary logit, it is recommended that the government should target farmers in Cluster 2-those with low income, hardly had any training, and low level of education.
