The developed software entitled ?Computation and Visualization of Synonymous and Nonsynonymous Substitution (CVSNOS)? identifies the type of substitution whether synonymous or nonsynonymous at the amino acid level. It also classifies transition or transversion at the nucleotide level and computes the number of substitutions per position of the codon. Additional feature of this program is that it can generate a visual presentation of the synonymous and nonsynonymous substitutions that occur between the DNA sequences from the set of the species given. The input of this software is the set of names of species and its DNA sequences obtained from the web. Mammalian mitochondrial genetic code was used instead of the universal genetic code since the data input is a mammalian mitochondrial DNA. This software enables molecular biologists to have an accurate result in short span of time and they assured of analyzing the correct set of data
