The material samples were observed of their physical characteristics and acoustical properties. Three formulations were used in each type of board. The formulation of both solid and hollow core boards were (1) 80% Plaster of Paris, 10% of Perlite Powder, and 10% of cornFlax. The results based from the physical characteristics of the materials were generally dirty white in color, rough in texture, had no chipped corners but were smooth, but mishandling of these boards could cause cracks and material deformation especially the Hollow Core. Both ¾ ? thick boards were medium weight, resulting to easy installation. The solid panel boards look sturdier and denser compared to the Hollow Core which has 5mm alternate air-gaps. The formulation used for acoustical testing is the Formulation A of CornFlax Board composed of 80% Plaster of Paris, 10% Perlite Powder, and 10% CornFlax (husk, silk, and cob). Then, the sound absorption and sound transmission class values were computer and initial values were determined using the reverberation chamber (sound absorption)and diffuse-field sound model (sound transmission loss values). Results showed that the Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of both Solid and Hollow Core CornFlax panel boards were absorbing. The Soild CornFlax drywall partition board is higher by 0.2 metric sabine compared to the NRC rating of the Hollow Core Cornflax drywall partition board. This computed NRC ratings were greater compared to the commercially available gypsum oards, plywood, PALF Drywall Boards, Durian Panel Husks, etc. the STC rating of both Solid and CornFlax panel boards were greater compared to the commercially available gypsum boards, plywood, PALF Drywall Board, Durian Panel Husks, etc. but brick plastered on walls and the Banana Pseudostem Fiber Particle Boards are still better in terms of STC ratings. The findings tell that the material is a promising product for the use of Sound Transmission in interior partitions. The STI rating of both Solid and Hollow Core CorFlax Panel Boards were classified as an excellent rating. The study concluded that the Solid CorFlax Panel Boards exhibited greater acoustical properties compared to the Hollow Core. The Solid CornFlax Panel Boards can be applied as interior finishes based on its physical characteristics in terms of texture, color, and corners. It cannot be applied as exterior finish since it is prone to damages and deformations caused by weather. In finale the general data, interpretation, and analysis, sound absorption and sound transmission had absorbing and very good results. This means that the material can be used in application to buildings basically commercial buildings like office buildings.
