Thesis (BS Food Technology) -- University of the Philippines Mindanao, 2006

As part of the curriculum for the Bachelor of Science in Food Technology, a plant practice was conducted at Mead Johnson Nutritionals from April to May 2005. The 288 hours of plant practice aimed to provide the intern with adequate exposure on the plant?s processing and production lines other departments of the company. From the plant practice, the trainee was able to gather some information about the pant including its organizational set up, it?s history, mission, vision and goals; it?s existing product lines; it?s scheme of raw materials handling an inventory; its production and processing systems, and the protocols being implemented to ensure product quality and safety. This manuscript aims to document the information gathered from the plant practice, the student?s technical analyses on some aspects of the company, the student?s recommendations to optimize existing operations, and the lessons and insights gained from the experience
