Cabu, Tambler, General Santos City from April to May 2006. The plant practice engaged the student to activities involved in canned tuna production ? from the receipt of raw fish to the van loading of finished products. The student was exposed to all the departments involved in the production but the number of days allotted for each department varied. Through the whole duration of the plant practice, the student served as a Quality Assurance checker. As QA checker, the student served the responsibilities of receiving, and grading raw materials, food quality assurance as well as food safety assurance. The trainee worked ten (10) hours a day, thus, completed the required 288 hours in 29 days. The plant practice ended on May 23, 2006. Information regarding the company was gathered and some problems were identified. After which, recommendations were raised. It is therefore the aim of this plant practice report to document all information gathered, problems observed and recommended raised
