This study is created to promote the participation of women and youth in the peace process. It is motivated by the existing discrimination against women that hinders them from participating discussions and actions to achieve peace. The study also aimed to encourage more young participants in the peace process. The study is composed of two parts, the formative research and the communication plan. The formative research involved determining the social constructs of women and peace and these determined constructs helped contextualize the study in Mindanao and provide a context-sensitive aspect to the communication plan. The study discussed the emerging constructs of women as the mother, the female and the personality and how these constructs affect the participation of women in the peace process. More so, the study also discussed the personal and social aspects of peace as factors that affect the women and the youth?s participation in the peace process. The communication plan involved applying the constructs determined from the formative research into communication executions. The communication plan will be called the #IBElong Campaign which will also be used in the Women Seriously! Campaign. The Women Seriously! Campaign is an international campaign that advocates the participation of women in the peace process. Ultimately, the study analyzed the women and the youth?s perception of women and peace and how it affected their participation in the peace process. This analysis is used to create a campaign that will relate to them and will encourage them to participate in the peace process.
