520 3 _aThere have been changes occurring in the traditions of the South Cotabato local tribe called T'boli. The incursion of outsiders, the introduction of a cash economy, and the pressures of the modern world were some of the factors that altered the environment of the T'boli and damaged their art depicted in a cloth called T'nalak (Hinabing Panaginip documentary, 2009). Presently, the officials of the local tribe are striving to preserve their culture as well as their local traditions. In response to this, the researcher produced a 13-minute short documentary film which focused on how commercialism in Lake Sebu affects the traditional weaving process and the traditional uses of sacred T'nalak. Supporting details such as the step by step traditional weaving and the selling of T'nalak were introduced in the film. The researcher fully underwent three stages of creative process which includes the Pre-production or the preparation phase, Production stage or the shooting stage and post-production stage or the editing phase. In making this short documentary, the researcher noted that one must establish the objectives, goals and concepts first so that the audience can easily relate to the film and the desired message can be achieved. The researcher used different types of documentary techniques as well as the 7-Step Method for Developing a Creative Concept introduced by Friedman (2006). She also utilized corner's four (4) modes of visual language and three(3) modes of verbal language in the documentary form. These were very useful in creating the creative concept for this short documentary
