520 3 _aChicken meat is considered as the second most popular meat in the Philippines, next to pork. The demand for chicken meat according to Landes et.al. (2004), is increasing faster than that of other meats because of its various advantages such as its lower price, lower fat content, and the more convenient and versatile methods of meal preparation, compared to other meats. The study mainly focused on the demand of the Davao City consumers on dressed chicken particularly in the urban areas only. With the use of logistic regression method this study attempts to pinpoint the factors that would influence or affect the demand of the consumers considering the explanatory variables such as price, demographic factors and economic factors. This study also identify the behavior of the consumers on where, when, and how they purchase chicken meat as well as the elasticity of demand. The researcher identified that income and price have only little effect on the demand of consumers. Moreover, factors such as household size and employed household members were the most significant factors that greatly affect the purchase decision of consumers towards dressed chicken.
