The company has been operating since year 2006; the processing operation is certified by Food and Drugs Administration (FDA). It offers three product packages: ice cream package for street vendors, party ice cream package, and ice cream package for politicians. The company has experienced a big decline in its revenue when it lost a major client that contributed about 75% of its revenue. Moreover, the company's growth has relatively been flat since this decline. The Strategic Management Model Framework of David (2005) was used to help the company attain its main goal of surviving in the industry. Thus, the opportunities and threats in the external environment as well as the company?s strengths and weaknesses were analyzed. The company has an External Factor Evaluation score of 2.1. This means that the company's ability to respond to external factors is poor. It also has an Internal Factor Evaluation score of 2.2. This means that the company is internally weak. The company does not have a clear set of corporate philosophies and direction. However, the company generally aims to survive in the competition in the ice cream industry. The specific objectives of the company are to increase its sales and to continue to provide safe products for its consumers. The company's Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunity, Threat (SWOT) Matrix analysis was used to come up with strategic options for the company. This analysis resulted to the options: Market Development, Market Penetration, Market Niching, and Related Diversification. The Strategic Position Action Evaluation (SPACE) Matrix show a result indicating that the company should pursue a conservative strategy. Thus, Market Niching was chosen as the best strategy for the case of Sumptuous Sorbetes. Moreover, an implementation plan and a set of control systems to ensure the success of the chosen strategy were made.
