520 _aThis study was conducted to compare the diet of P. disjunctivus and C. striata in Lake Mihaba, Agusan del Sur. One of the floodplain lakes in Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary. Two fishing methods were used: the gill netting method using three to five gill nets with a mesh size of 76 mm and a dimension of 10 mm x 2.5 m from top to bottom. In the hook and line method baits such as earthworms and frogs were used. A total of three to five lines were used, each with a length of 10 m and with 100 hooks. A total of 6 food items were identified in the guts of C. striata and the RI index of these food items was determined. These are the digested material (62.18), fish (18.13), arthropod (5.25), insect (2.90), nematode (3.39) and phytoplankton (5.57). the food item that were identified in the guts of P. disjunctivus were detritus matter (78.63) and phytoplankton (21.34). only phytoplankton is the common food item present in the guts of both fish species with an RI of 5.57 for C. striata and 21.34 for P. disjunctivus. Correlation between water fluctuation and feeding of phytoplankton suggests a strong linea relationship for P. disjunctivus (r=0.61) and a weak relationship for C. striata (0.05) at P=0.05. this means that P. disjunctivus feeds more on phytoplankton when they are abundant at high water making it an important food item for this fish species. Results of the RI values showed no diet overlap between C. striata and P. disjunctivus
