However, because of the stiff competition. BluMic's Catering was not able to come up with an effective countermeasure, slowly losing its competitive edge. In order to address the business hurdle, a strategic plan was made which shall encompass the five-year operation of the BluMic's Catering from year 2019 to year 2023. The conceptual framework used for the strategic plan of BluMic's Catering was derived from Wheelen and Hunger's strategic management model. The framework highlights the interaction among four elements of strategic management namely, environmental scanning, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and evaluation and control. The business goals set for the strategic plan reflects the vital components of the business such as manpower planning, market presence, cost control measures and increased revenue. Assessment from industry analysis showed that competitive rivalry within catering service industry is high. In comparison to Davao competitors, BluMic's Catering's catering packages are PhP38 to PhP59 per pax lower than the average pricing.
