Producing 1.2 million MT of tuna annually, Philippines is the seventh largest producer in the world. There is a limited supply of tuna and one way to increase their return of investment is through value-adding. The objectives of this study to assess the technical efficiency of each tuna value-added products sold in each firms located in General Santos City. Specifically, this study determine the level of technical efficiency of the selected tuna value-added products and verify if gender has an effect on the technical efficiency of the firm; and identify the possible external and internal factors involved in the performance of tuna value added firms. The stud involved 15 respondents of tuna value added products in General Santos City supported by the Department of Trade Industry in their NICCEP training. Due to, the unavailability of the other respondents to participate in the study, there are 6 respondents interviewed for this study. This study uses Data Envelopment Analysis. The results of the study show that only the number of years in the business has a direct relationship with the technical efficiency of the firm. Gender and educational attainment doesn't affect the technical efficiency of the firm.
