The purpose of the plant practice is to give the student the opportunity to take part and gain experience in the processing operations of General Tuna Corporation and integrate the theories and principles learned from Food Science and Technology Courses. The trainee gained knowledge on the processing of canned tuna especially in its Production Department. The trainee was also exposed to actual working environment and condition and the problems encountered while working. During the 288 hours of training, the trainee learned the importance of teamwork to create a final product and meet the market standard. The plant practice was a good learning experience for undergraduate students who will soon be a part of the food industry.
