By: Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextDescription: 96 leavesSubject(s): Dissertation note: Thesis (Master in Management) -- University of the Philippines Mindanao, 2023 Summary: EMC has a long history of being a partner of the employees of DS Banana Company. With its humble beginnings driven by the spirit of cooperativism and the goal of supporting workers, it was able to drastically grow throughout its 40-year history. Starting with 39 members in 1983, grew to approximately 100 members by 1991 and was then officially registered as a cooperative. The firm was able to surpass 1,000 members by 2015. However, the cooperative was not able to sustain this, and entered a stage of stagnation. This led to a decline in assets, revenues, and membership rates. To address these issues, EMC must re-evaluate its growth trajectory and address key issues that affect the organization. Through identifying its organizational goals and analyzing the internal and external business environment, it was determined that the best strategic direction of EMC is towards intensifying membership campaigns and improving operational efficiency. These key strategies can guide EMC towards the goal of a structured and profitable cooperative and re-establish its position as the sole partner of DS Banana Company employees in times of financial distress. Effective implementation of strategies under marketing, operations, and finance could support the cooperative’s target of boosting membership rates, improving its value proposition, and improving its financial health. Consistent monitoring of the performance of these strategies will ensure the continuous growth of EMC and solidify the cooperative’s relationship with its members
