Forty (40) War on Drugs memes were collated for this study, assessed and analyzed according to their type message and context. The researcher discussed the possible meanings for each relevant meme feature, and construed personal explanations for the significant and insignificant relationships determined from the categorical data analysis. The results derived from the thematic analysis suggest that the meme?s ability to induce visual enthymemes (the rhetorical quality of inviting the spectator to actively engage in determining the implicit arguments of each visual) as the determining cause for the meme makers? portrayal of Duterte?s War on Drugs to the online public.
